Small Stages presents The Wall Chargers
February 24, 2018, 7:30pm - February 24, 2018, 10:00pm
February 16, 2018, 9:00pm - February 17, 2018, 3:00am
Arkansauce is a genre-hopping, four piece string band from northwest Arkansas, bending the rules and blurring the lines between bluegrass, newgrass, folk, americana, country, blues, and funk. With a loyal following growing every day in the Natural State and along their tour routes, the band is proud to be stepping into a hard-driving sound unique to the Arkansas quartet.
THE WALL CHARGERS
The Wall Chargers are based out of Shreveport, Louisiana. A bizarre corner of the southern world called the Ark-La-Tex. The band's unique sound draws from western and gospel with rhythm and roots flare. Imagine something like Ray LaMontagne playing The Ink Spots. The self dubbed genre "space western" tends to include pedal steel rainbows crossing over rivers of synth and electric guitar. Well-thought lyricism meets well taught instrumentation. Respectful students of an old sound find a personal modern voice.
Special Announcement! This Sunday(1/17) frontman Landon Lloyd Miller will be performing a stripped down set at Shreveport House Concerts opening for Motel Radio. Be there if you can. Starting this year off right with mostly new selections and a few throwbacks.
January 21, 2018, 7:00pm - January 21, 2018, 10:00pm
Motel Radio is an indie rock band hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band was born out of a songwriting collaboration between college roomates, Ian Wellman and Winston Triolo, that has since grown into a full band consisting of Eric Lloyd (drums), Andrew Pancamo (bass), and David Har (keys).
Early writing and recording culminated in the summer of 2015 with the band's independently released EP "Days and Nights". The EP earned them supporting slots for national acts such as Drive-By Truckers and Kurt Vile in additional to festival performances at Frefly, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and SXSW among others. The band was named "Best Emerging Artist" at the 2016 Big Easy Awards in their home town of New Orleans
